We are delighted to bring you the April Disability Profile. April is an important month for all people living with Autism and their supporters throughout the world. In April every year, World Autism Day is celebrated to bring an awareness and understanding of this condition which affects a growing numbers of children every year
South Africa is making some astounding inroads into combating this disease and a newly published report by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/Aids (UNAids) attests to this fact. The report states that South Africa has cut the rate of new HIV infections by 41% since 2001, with a drop of at least 50,000 in the last two years. However there is still so much to do if we are to achieve HIV/AIDS generations in the future

We are all familiar with the journey of Transformation. South Africans have lived, breathed, debated, argued and finally accepted that change is necessary for our country and indeed our economy to survive. Whilst some remain doggedly stuck in the past with increasing accusations of racism towards Black South Africans and from Black South Africans, the time has come for us to not turn on each other but rather remind ourselves of the bigger picture. Change is brewing and it is time for us to consider what this will mean for us as South Africans.
