South Africa is making some astounding inroads into combating this disease and a newly published report by the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/Aids (UNAids) attests to this fact. The report states that South Africa has cut the rate of new HIV infections by 41% since 2001, with a drop of at least 50,000 in the last two years.
